“Nexten is a multidisciplinary design firm offering one-stop service in areas of research, strategy, design, human factors, engineering & MFG sourcing.”
Research & Strategy
Thorough research reveals detailed insights and clear direction for meaningful development. Our research & strategy process includes analysis of competition, technology, branding, patents, regulations, design trend, social & cultural background and as well as the client’s existing product lines and detail requirements.
- Product definition, requirements
- Design specification
- Up-front cost analysis
- Demography / Consumers base analysis
Mechanical Design & Human factors
Successful project must fulfill two important aspects: effective functionality and eye-catching design. This stage of product development may include concept development, ideation workshop, rapid prototyping, ergonomic testing, human factors, visualization, 3D modeling & product specification, engineering & interface studies and brand & packaging development.
Detail engineering starts after the concepts approved. Topside down design with today’s most advanced CAD systems to turn the idea to real at first time. Following with prototyping and verifications and more testing and engineering analysis takes places accordingly to achieve the best result of engineering and cost-for business sense.
- Prototyping and proof of concept
- Plastic injection moulding
- Die cast aluminum, zinc and magnesium
- Metal stamping, wax / sand casting, Alu extrusion
- Tech documents, 3D CAD, detail drawings
- Packaging design and testing
Engineering, Prototyping, Testing
Mechanical engineering plays a significant role in physical product development as it will form the product “body”, which provide product enclosures, mechanisms, and structures. On a higher level, mechanical engineers oversee and direct the delicate balance between form and function, design for manufacturing and BOM cost. From complete systems 3D modeling, to the design of physical components and sub-assemblies, packaging, architecture and layout, design of structures, mechanisms and manufacturability all play a large role in the mechanical engineering filed.
Our mechanical design services include:
- 3D parametric solid modeling of mechanical components and functional assemblies
- Complex surfaces for industrial designed and styled components
- Design for manufacturing/assembly (DFMA)
- Detailed, two-dimensional manufacturing and assembly shop drawings
- Photo-realistic rendering for marketing presentations
- Animation for presentation and marketing
Project Management & Manufacturing Sourcing
This stage will include designing of manufacturing, tool fabrication, vendor liaising, manufacturing management, testing procedures for reliability, reviewing product samples, prototypes and also troubleshooting any issues pertaining to the design. The final stage of this phase would also include product launching and mass production of the product.
The product optimization and cost-down phase involves making any improvement to the design and optimizing it based on parameters such as ergonomics. this stage also includes cutting costs of the existing projects, optimizing the material and manufacturing methods, packaging, shipping and logistics management.
- Scheduling, planning, Procedure, documentation, and goals
